about the patterns
Being an Australian, of the vintage who studied feet and inches at school, it took me a while to embrace metric measurements. It wasn’t too many years after I started thinking in centimetres that I discovered quiltmaking, and rulers with measurements marked in inches. So I completed the circle and switched back to inches for sewing - and my height
So? You ask. Well this means that although the pattern’s ‘Requirements List’ gives metric and imperial measurements, cutting and sewing directions are in inches. If you have a quilting background and already use rotary cutting it will be fast and easy to cut your pieces.
Only some patterns have templates, many only give cutting directions in various size squares, rectangles or strips.
Don’t worry if you use scissors. You will only need a ruler with inch measurements and a soft pencil. You rule your pattern shape straight onto the wrong side of the fabric. This is your cutting line.
